"We love
British Columbia!"

Mont/MGA has what I consider the right approach, meaning its all hands on - literally! Mont teaches with an enthusiasm rarely seen elsewhere. Athletically "fit for fight", I believe Mont is in better condition than the goaltenders he is educating! In fact, he actually puts on the equipment and performs the drills he has his students do - not just tell them to complete them. This, and the fact that he performs the drills better than the students, are just some of the reasonswhy his teaching methods are so successful and so effective.
The key to being successful as a coach, is getting the respect of your students or players. Once you have achieved that, you gain their complete focus. And who needs the ability to focus more than a goalie?
Mont has come up with some very innovative ideas, most of which I have never seen before. But after witnessing them first-hand, and the way Mont implements them, it all makes perfect sense! Todays game requires a goalie to face a barrage of shots, many that he cannot see. Therefore, the goaltender today has to learn to rely as much on "feel and instinct" as he does on technique. Mont calls this approach, 'teaching goalies from the "inside out " instead of "outside in." It obviously works!
Mont/MGA has even gone a step further by teaching both students and parents the value of proper nutrition. That makes me extremely happy! I think both parents and athletes need to know more about how to eat. I see too many young Danish ice hockey players who are physically not strong and/or healthy enough for high-level hockey. With the amount of training in todays game, both on and off the ice, nutrition becomes a very important factor in the development of the athlete.
For all aspiring young goaltenders, MGA is the right place for you. You get hands on, individual instruction together with new and innovative techniques. Goalies become stronger mentally, technically, and physically with each day of the program. And above all - its clearly a lot of fun! I wish continued success to both Mont and Pia who have shown the passion needed to make better goalies and therefore, better ice hockey!"

BALANCE TRAINING ON ROLLER SKATES!
Wanna be a more capable, more stable, more agile goalie who will never fail to make a save caused by bad balance?
Roller skate! BUT NOT LIKE EVERYONE ELSE!
Nothing is better to enhance your skating ability like wheels on feet! But this doesnt mean you should just roll straight ahead on a perfect surface. Make challenges! Roll on grass, dirt, hills, stones, sand, anything that provides you with a challenge to your balance! Bounce tennis balls between your legs while rolling, and catch them! The better you get doing these extreme challenges off-ice, the better you will get performing on the ICE where its perfectly flat!
IMPORTANT! ALWAYS WEAR PROTECTION AND
NEVER DO ANYTHING BEYOND YOUR CAPABILITIES!
